Kaal Sarp Dosh Puja on Nag Panchami
Why We Perform Kaal Sarp Dosh Puja on Nag Panchami 2024
Sharavan Maas!!! The month of Shravan is significant for the entire sub-continent of India as it is connected to the arrival of the South-West monsoon. As per Hindu Calendar, Shravan is the fifth month and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva swallowed the poison and held it in his throat with the help of Goddess Parvati. To soothe the effect of the poison, Devas poured water on Shivji. Since this event occurred during the month of Shravan, Lord Shiva is worshipped, and Shiv Abhishek popularly performs by many devotees, especially during this month. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva in Shravan Maas is 108 times more powerful than praying at any other time of the year. For many Hindus, Shravan is a fasting month. They will fast every Monday to Lord Shiva and every Tuesday to the Goddess Parvati. Devotees pray to Lord Shiva during Shravan for luck, success, and happiness.
Nag Panchmi Puja 2024:
One of the most important festivals of Shravan Maas is Nag Panchami. We worship the Snake gods and seek their blessings to protect our family from threats. In the month of Shravan, Snakes often come out of their burrows as burrows get with water because of the rain. We offer milk to God Snake. Symbolically, offering milk to snakes suggests that one must learn to be in harmony with nature. This year i.e.in 2024, the festival of Nag Panchami is falling on 21st August 2024.
Performing Kaal Sarp Puja on the day of Nag Panchami will be more effective. Like Manglik Dosh and Pitru Dosh in Astrology, Kaal Sarp Yoga is placed in the category of inauspicious Yoga. It has been said about Kaal Sarp Dosh that those who are having Kaal Sarp Yog the Kundali / Birthchart, have to face challenges again and again. This dosha is formed when all planets come in between Rahu and Ketu in Kundali / Patrika.
What is Kaal Sarp Dosh:
If all significant planets are placed between Rahu and Ketu in one’s birth chart, it is called Kaal Sarp Yog. Kaal Sarp Dosh is often a result of one’s past deeds or karma. It is suggested that those who are having Kaal Sarp Yog Should regularly do Jal Abhishek of Lord Shiva in the month of Shravan.
